OceanStates is hosted by the University of Bergen, Norway. The main project partner is The University of the South Pacific, Fiji, and its campus network in 12 Pacific Island countries.
The project has participating researchers at the University of Hawai’i, the Australian National University, and several universities in Europe and the United States. From 2021, we also operate smaller sub-projects with research organisations in Solomon Islands and Ma’ohi Nui (French Polynesia). In Fiji, we work with ManaVa Performing Arts Fiji to produce communicate the project’s research agenda.
OceanStates is privileged to have an agreement of consultation with the Pacific Ambassadors at the United Nations. Similar dialogues will take place at the University of the South Pacific.
At the host institution, the University of Bergen, the project collaborates with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Change, the Faculty of Law, and the university wide SDG Bergen programme.
